Lesson and Dive – Our “Try Dive” Program
This program is unique to Bermuda, but is similar to courses available world
wide – a total beginner, provided that they are confident swimmers and
have a clear medical history, can try our Lesson and Dive program. This
program is also suitable for people who have dived before, but are not
certified. Under the supervision of a qualified instructor, you will be taught
the basics needed to dive up to a maximum depth of 40 feet – which makes it
possible to visit a number of local, historical shipwreck sites. If you want to
dive while on holiday, or just try diving for the first time without committing
to a full course, then this program is perfect for you.
PLEASE NOTE - if you cannot swim, this is not a suitable program for you.
If you have any pre-existing medical conditions, then you must see a Doctor
before diving - this is not negotiable and our staff cannot make medical
assessments. Participating in SCUBA diving if someone is not medically fit to
dive CAN BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND MAY BE FATAL. **Please** do
not ask us to re-do the form at check-in and leave out your medical history -
this is also extremely dangerous and BWD reserves the right to refuse
service *with no possibility of a refund* to anyone who asks to fill out a
new medical form after they have marked down a medical condition.
We urge you to NOT be tempted to leave out any medical information, even if
you are not sure whether it is relevant. SCUBA diving has a variety of complex
effects on the body and provided a person is medically fit, is very safe
especially when done under professional supervision - but, it is NOT safe if
pre-existing medical conditions exist, unless these are specifically checked
and signed off by a Physician.
