Snorkel Certificate Program
The
"GUIDED
SNORKEL CERTIFICATE PROGRAM", is a safe,
fun way to discover Bermuda's underwater wonderland. Our 3 part course
consists of learning the snorkeling skills listed below, gaining
environmental awareness of local marine Flora and Fauna and culminates
with a guided tour of the coral reef.
Our trained instructors provide you with all the equipment you need, including
a fish identification guide and wet suits in cold temperatures.
LEVEL
1 - Beginner
- Learning use of the equipment
- Mask defogging, clearing & adjustment
- Removing & replacing the mask on the surface
- Understanding buoyancy
- Swimming in waves & surf
- Surface entry & exit techniques
- Surface breathing
- Achieving a rudimentary knowledge of marine life

LEVEL 2 - Intermediate
- Mask clearing on the surface
- Blast method of clearing the snorkel
- Submerging, exploring, resurfacing, & regaining snorkel
position
- Inflating & deflating the snorkel

- Danger & environmental awareness
- Basic First Aid & cramp release
- Equalisation of pressure.

LEVEL 3 - Advanced
- Free diving beyond 10 feet
- Demonstrating the ´Pike Dive´ method
- Clearing snorkel with the displacement method
- First Aid knowledge, treatment & buddy aid
- Achieving a natural & relaxed style in the water
- Use of a weight belt
- Identifying at least 6 local fish & corals.
